Our Weather in Cyprus
We are living in a village called Tsada at the present time, it is 8 km north of Paphos, which is equivalent to a ten minute drive from Tsada to the Paphos main shopping center, Tsada is in the hills and approx. 600 meters above sea level, it is a beautiful place to live and the drive up here is stunning with the hills, mountains and ocean views, because of its elevation the difference in the weather can be as much as 1 to 8 degrees, as even though Paphos is literally only a ten minute drive, it’s the elevation of Tsada that makes the difference, it doesn’t sound a lot really but on chillier days I find it nicer in Paphos.
This will be our first winter in Cyprus so I have written about my findings so far.
September 27th 2018 which is when we arrived.
It is very hot which I wasn’t expecting really as it is virtually the end of September, I think I was expecting warmth, but it is really amazing and, how lovely to have left chilly England and suddenly to be in shorts.
At the moment it is too hot for Maggie our German Shepherd to go for a walk during the day so we are trying to take her out at eight in the morning and again around seven in the evening, even then it is still really warm but it is cooler, the evenings are also lovely and warm and I am happy to say I have finally put cardigans away lol, thankfully there are huge ceiling fans in all of the rooms so Maggie chooses a different one through the day, the house is air conditioned but we prefer the fans on as we both like to be warm.

I have to say I am loving the heat, most days it is between 27 and 31 degrees which is lovely and hot and the evenings are either hot or warm depending on if there is a breeze…I am totally loving not being cold or chilly and being in shorts and t shirts all the time is totally fabulous.
In the middle of October we moved into our long term rental in Tsada and the weather was still glorious, and we were still in shorts and t shirts, every day was sunshine and blue skies, and we sat outside or walked daily as it was so beautiful, we had doors and windows open to let the warm air blow through the house, and I would say the temperature was perfect.
November 2018
November was a lovely month with lots of warm sunny days for walking or sitting outside, It was in the middle of this month that the house started to get chilly and I think at that point I was getting confused that it was warm outside but chilly inside, totally the opposite of living in the UK where we are warmer in our houses and colder outside.
For the first part of November we were still in shorts but coming back inside the house I always had to put something on my legs and grab a cardigan as the house was feeling really cold, but to be outside in November in shorts feeling like you were still in summer was lovely.
I am finding the days are really hot and the mornings and evenings are now chilly, the first part of November it wasn’t chilly enough to light the fire, but I am wearing a cardigan in the house as it is always cooler than outside, we also don’t have the sun coming through the windows, that was one mistake we made when we decided to rent this house, I had read that it was important to make sure the main windows were south facing, but in the excitement of finding a house we liked, it was something we forgot, so with not having the sun come through the living room windows the house feels pretty cool, and then with ceramic floors and high ceilings none of that is helping and it all adds up to making the house feel colder, we need to buy some rugs for the floors and slippers are a must at the moment.

We had a couple of cloudy days last week, it was a shock not to have the sun shining as I think I have gotten used to it now, on one of those days we had rain with thunder, I was happy about the rain though for the plants outside, but I am happy we are back to blue skies again and still in shorts, I was reading someone’s blog yesterday of their first winter in Cyprus and they were saying that they took clothes off to go outside as it was warm and sunny and they put clothes back on to go in the house as it was chilly inside lol, so it’s definitely the cold houses that are the problem.

Last night we decided to start lighting the fire in the evenings to take the chill off, thankfully this house has a good woodstove, but it still seems confusing to me to be in shorts t shirts and be outside in sunshine during the day but then to come into the house and be chilly, and then the chilly house turns into quite a cold house in the evening, but I am not moaning as I am loving the sunshine, the fire seems to do the trick though and hopefully it will all be ok.
We also went and bought a calor gas fire which will come in handy to help warm the other side of the living room up, I think I want to get one for the upstairs next, as the bedrooms at night are now pretty cold so I think if we get another one and leave it on low for an hour before bed it will take the chill off, I guess it all takes time to figure out what we need over here and how to make the houses work with not having central heating.
I have also read the real winter starts in December so it will be interesting to see how warm or cold it is then as I haven’t got a clue and when I have researched December weather it is mixed so I think we have to experience it ourselves to know.
December has been a bit of a surprise.
I did lots of research regarding the winters as it was important for me in particular to move somewhere warm, and I admit it is very mild compared to the UK, in my research I did read about the cold houses that mostly have no central heating and no insulation, but I still don’t think I was prepared for how cold the houses really get over here, it can be really warm, sunny or hot outside in November and December but as soon as you walk into the house it is now really chilly.
We are lucky in that we have a big woodstove that has a fan built in so it blows out lots of warm air, and having a calor gas fire at the other side of the room between the kitchen and living room keeps that area warm.
Upstairs we have another calor gas fire that we put on an hour before bed, otherwise the bedrooms feel really cold, and so far it is working out well.
I think just trying to figure out a way to keep the house warm through the winter months to start with has felt a bit difficult and knowing when to light the fire before the house got really cold has also been a learning curve.
We are in December as I am writing this, and no matter whether it is warm and sunny or cloudy and rainy, I am putting the calor gas fire on first thing in the morning now, and we are lighting the woodstove at around 3.30 to 4pm as that is when you can feel the temperature inside and outside of the house really start to drop.
The days are really mixed at the moment, either warm or sunny where you just want to sit outside with your face to the sun, and then there are cloudy days and some rainy days where you need a thicker sweater and definitely a jacket.
The first two weeks in December were days filled with rain and wind and lots of thunder and lightning storms that seemed to go on forever, everytime I thought the storms had gone back they came, and I discovered that when it rains in Cyprus it really rains, torrential rain that can go on for hours, but I have been told by numerous people that the rain and storms we just went through are not typical for Cyprus so that was good to hear.
My evaluation of all of this so far is that you need more clothes on in the house and less clothes when you are outside…..I wonder what January will bring.

We have had some wild weather over the last few weeks which I have been told is not typical for the winter in Cyprus, in fact everyone I talk to these days have been telling me that January is normally a month filled with lots of sunshine, but so far we have had so much rain, and the thunder storms seem to have gone on for weeks.
I do enjoy talking to people that tell me that this weather isn’t typical as it cheers me up lol, and now looking at the weather forecast for the coming week it seems whatever cold front we had as now gone and it seems the sun is coming back again, also it shows how much rain we have had over the last few weeks as the reservoirs are now forty percent filled which apparently doesn’t normally happen at this time of year.
It is typical that our first winter over here everyone is saying its the worst winter they have had in years.

We have full sunshine and it is really warm, we are wearing jeans and t shirts and it is beautiful outside and the house doesn’t feel quite as chilly, we spent the day at lighthouse Beach which has a café on the beach itself, so we had lunch and sat watching people swimming and playing on the sand, what a glorious day.

This past week we had dust arrive from Africa and it was very sort of misty and cloudy outside for a few days, even the car got covered in dust, and people with asthma were advised to stay indoors, it’s all gone now though thankfully and a few days ago its back to being nice and sunny again.

Our weather is mixed at the moment, we have warm sunny days and then cloudy days, Tuesday was really hot and I couldn’t even sit outside for more than ten minutes, but then Wednesday was cloudy and then it went back to sunny again so we are definitely a bit mixed

I couldn’t believe that I had gotten quite badly sunburned today, I was going to put some sun cream on but I didn’t think we would be out as long as we were so I am now a lobster colour, its mainly my face and arms and neck that are the worst so I will try and stay out of the sun for a few days until I have gone back to normal, I can’t believe I did that so I will carry my sun cream in my bag with me from now on.

We had an horrendous storm on Wednesday morning, it was just as I woke up at eight a.m. the thunder was so loud, and then we had really huge hail, by the time I got downstairs the whole of the back patio was white with hail and it was bouncing in the pool lol, it did look funny, although I was a bit worried it was going to shred the leaves on all the plants we bought last week, but after half an hour the storm passed us and the day was sunny again, we did lose some leaves from the plants and one is a bit shredded but I guess it could have been worse.

The weather is so lovely over here, it was mainly the weather that we moved over here for as out of 365 days in the year Cyprus has around 320 sunny days, although the Cypriot people still tell me that the weather isn’t as hot as normal but I find it perfect at the moment, although I did get burnt again in the week, I think I am just not used to having to keep putting sunscreen on so I need to start remembering before I end up old and shrivelled lol.

I am finding that I start off sitting in the sun and after fifteen to twenty minutes I have to move to the shade now, and we actually got the sun brollies out last week as I can feel the sun has intensified its heat, I am using factor 50 when we go out walking or out to lunch.

I got myself burnt again last week so had to spend two days in the house as I was like a lobster, it is so weird that sometimes you just don’t feel yourself burning, we were out one of the days and we stopped for a drink, only the place was so nice that we sat outside for a few hours, I had put some sun block on my chest and face before we left the house, and I didn’t feel myself burning at all until we got home and it was a bit later on that I felt my shoulders, arms and legs were really hot.
The weather over here is amazing still and feels like we are in the middle of summer, we are in the 70’s now and some days get to 80 degrees although on Thursday it was 82 degrees, it is so lovely, I am totally in love with the heat, I have been told that it won’t cool down now until around December, and even then we can have sunny beach days which I do believe as we were on the beach last December and January in t shirts, in-between all the thunder storms we had, the heat is warming the pool up really well so I think by the end of next week we should be able to swim, I have heard a lot of people are using their pools already but I think I need another five degrees before I get in it lol.

The weather this week has been so hot, around 28 to 30 degree’s which is a bit too hot to sit in the sun or have a walk, but for the first couple of days of my niece arriving which will be our first visitor, the temperature is going down to 23 or 24 so that will be nicer, but then when my daughter Nicola arrives a few days later the temperature goes back to 28 to 30 degrees, I think we will be using the pool a lot to cool down, I did manage to buy some floaty things for the pool for them to mess around on so that should be fun.
May has been a beautiful month, the weather has been really hot, perfect for sunbathing and going to the beach and playing in the waves at Coral Bay, I think there was a heat wave at the end of this month which might have helped, it was around the middle of May that we started swimming in the pool at 24 degrees, it felt really cold to get in but once in then it was lovely to be able to swim every day.

It’s unreal how hot it has been for the last week, it has been around 90 degrees and even under the umbrella outside it has felt hot with a warm breeze, so I have been popping in and out of the pool, as when you get out of the water you feel really cool for ages, this heat does comes in handy for the laundry as if I have two loads to do, by the time I take the second lot of laundry outside the first lot is dry already.

Well it has certainly gotten hotter over here, and I had forgotten what humidity felt like as it’s been a few years since Canada, but this week I definitely remembered, and at times it felt like I was back in Canada, especially when coming out of a lovely air conditioned shop and you just feel the heat hit you when you go back outside, so this week we had no choice but to finally stop all cooking in the house and we have been keeping some blinds closed where the sun comes through, it has all helped but thankfully with the pool we just get in when it feels to hot and instantly we are cooler lol, the evenings are lovely after the sun has gone down though so that is when I do my bits of gardening, I do enjoy the heat though.
The pool at the moment is just on thirty degrees so it’s a bit like bathwater, especially with my yellow ducks floating around as well

This was a lovely hot month in Tsada and quite unbearable every time we had to go down into Paphos, our evenings are lovely and warm and so far no mosquito’s, we found it was too hot really to do much during the day like gardening or walking, we had more visitors again this month and it was too hot to really do much like going to any archaeological sites, and even walking down by the harbour was just too hot, we had lots of beach days, I think this is a good month to either be at a beach or stay home by the pool where there is always a nice breeze in the hills.

The weather is now in the thirties which is really hot, it’s nice if you are staying around the house and the pool but really hard if you want to go anywhere, we have tried to go to the harbour which we all found just too hot, even the sea breeze was hot lol, and yesterday we decided to try and go to Sea caves to meet up with a friend for a drink which was nice, but it was impossible to walk around really, and even too hot to sit under a brolly, it was funny as when we all stood up to come home we all felt like we had wet ourselves as our shorts were soaked and that was sitting in the shade under a brolly lol, it did make us laugh though so we didn’t stay to long and it was nice getting back home into the pool.

This week we have spent a lot of time at Coral Bay, it is so pretty down there with the sea and the cliffs, it has been so hot that it has been hard trying to think of places to take my daughter Nicola and granddaughter Sarah, so beach days are lovely, it was 38 degree’s mostly this week which is 100 degrees Fahrenheit, so we knew we couldn’t go anywhere to walk, it was still hot down at the beach but the water was really lovely and warm, the waves at Coral Bay are amazing and it’s a lot of fun playing in them, it is always a good day when we go down there.

I was told August was a really really hot month and that is why a lot of ex pats go back to the UK for holidays this month, with us living in Tsada we have found this month to be lovely, there always seems to be a breeze in Tsada and it makes the hot weather more bearable, we had more visitors this month, another niece and her daughter so we went down into Paphos a lot, and it was really hot and really humid even late at night, I can honestly say every time we go down into Paphos we can’t wait to get back home to Tsada in the hills to cool down.

The weather this month has been lovely and warm, in Tsada it has been averaging around 27 degree’s, we haven’t seen rain now since the spring.
I am finding the back garden and pool at some point go into the shade in the afternoon as the sun is now not high in the sky but lower down going more a bit lower over to the front of the house, I think around 3 O clock for a little while we have virtually complete shade until the sun passes over the edge of the house and then we are back in sunshine again.
We have had a few more days of cloud than we are used to, and I think it’s this extra bit of shade that has made the pool temperature slightly lower, I think at the beginning of September it dropped to 26 degree’s

The daytime temperatures this week are ranging from 26 degrees in Tsada to 28 degrees, it still feels to warm to go for walks during the day and the pool temperature has dropped to 23 degree’s as the evenings have started to feel a bit chilly.

Mornings are starting to feel a bit chillier and I have started putting a cardigan on when I first wake up, and for the past week I have also been having a cardigan on in the evening. It’s still too hot during the day to go for a walk, but I can definitely feel a huge temperature drop mornings and evenings now.

Weather wise things are the same as last week, just a bit of a chill first thing in the morning and evenings outside are chilly, and daytime temperatures are at a low of 24 and a high of 27, so far the house is still lovely and warm, the living room sliding door stays open from morning until around 7 in the evening when we can feel a chill creeping in, it is still too hot to go walking in the daytime but I think in the next few weeks the temperatures will go a bit lower.

We have had some thunder and lightning over the past week and also some heavy rain which was nice to see, the temperatures have been the same between 24 and 27 and it has still been too hot to go for a walk during the day, first thing in the morning it feels slightly chilly but we are still putting shorts on as within an hour or so the sun comes out and everything warms up again, although now and again we are not opening the back sliding door until the sun comes out, so it’s still just first thing in the morning and the evenings that are a bit chilly.

Temperatures in the coming week are between 22 and 24 in Tsada, and it is now possible to go for walks, finally!, the weather outside is perfect and not to hot so it’s now possible to sit in the sun…..the house temperature is at 20 degree’s which feels cool but not cold, I just wish it could stay at 20 degrees and not drop any more as I do remember last year even with all the fires on we couldn’t get the heat above 18 degrees in the living room, that was with the woodstove and two calor gas fires on.
At the moment I am comfortable in shorts but on and off put a cardigan on, especially mornings and evenings.

We are having some cloud this week and it has made the house a bit on the chilly side it is still at 20 degrees in the living room, but I am now waking up and putting leggings and a thin sweater on first thing in the morning and when watching tv in the evening I put a blanket over me, so far no heating is needed….I am missing waking up and putting shorts and t shirt on, and this morning went and found my slippers as the floor is now feeling cold.

This week has been really hot, the temperatures are around 25 to 27 degrees, the house is around 21 degree’s, and we are back to having the front door open, sometimes the back door, and we are having lots of days sitting in the sunshine, it still feels too hot to go for a walk…also we are still in shorts and t shirts, although in the evening I do like my pj’s and a t shirt, and now and again a cardigan, the weather feels like the middle of summer.

Another hot week this week with temperatures still 25 to 27 degrees and even hotter in Paphos at around 29 now and again, the house is at 22 degree’s so still a lovely temperature, I still put a cardigan on morning and evening when I am in the house but shorts feel fine, this morning we had lots of rain and some thunder, but after an hour we were back to blue skies and warm weather

The house this last week has dropped to between 17 and 18 degree’s, so it feels quite chilly, we still haven’t put any heat on yet but I am wrapping up warmer in the house now and have started sitting with a hot water bottle in the evening, I think at the end of this week we will have to put some heat on

The temperature in the house has now dropped to 17 degrees and it feels really chilly, this week we bought a tv for the biggest room upstairs and put a little electric fire in there and a couple of chairs, so we are not heating the whole villa but just the one room, During the day when the weather is sunny we are out in the sunshine and then around 4pm we come home and spend the evening in the room upstairs which is turning out to be cosy and warm, it’s much better than last winter when we kept trying to heat the whole villa, and no matter how much we lit the fire and all the calor gas fires the villa didn’t warm up enough for me to feel warm, so it was all just a waste of money and I got fed up of being cold all the time, this is turning out to be much better.

The temperature has stayed at around 16 and 17 degree’s inside the house, but then two days ago on the 7th Dec it dropped to 15 degrees downstairs, so we are spending our days out in the sunshine during the day and in the evenings being warm and cozy in the upstairs room, we have found on the hottest days outside that if we leave the front door open so the sun can come the doorway then the temperature inside does go up one or two degree’s.
Outside it is still warm most days with the odd cloudy day here and there but definitely more sunny days and on and off we are in shorts and now and again jeans on the cloudy days, Tsada itself is still pretty warm at the moment and is around 15 to 17 degree’s which probably doesn’t sound very warm but the sun is still quite hot.

The weather decided to completely change this week and every day we have had cloud with torrential hail which shredded a lot of my plants as the hail was so heavy and it just went on for hours at a time, it has seemed like it is continually raining at the moment even through the night, we have also had, strong winds and lightning and thunder storms every day, this lasted until the 29th December, and since then most days it has been part sun and part cloud which has been better. Nick got sick that week with flu so it meant that we were stuck at home, I think it would have been nice that week if we could have gotten out in the sunshine and gone down on the coast as being in the house is quite chilly.

This past week has been quite wild, with high winds, torrential rain, thunderstorms and hail, every night it has woken me up as the wind and hail and storms are quite loud, the temperature in Tsada is only around 9 degree’s at the moment, although I have read that tomorrow for the next ten days we are going to have sunshine, hope they are right.

This week has been days of either part sun or full cloud, downstairs in the house it feels colder although the thermometer is reading around 13 degree’s, today we had part sun which was nice when the sun was out.
Looking at the forecast we have rain tomorrow and the next day, and then around 12 to 13 degrees in Tsada for the week, although Paphos is going to be 15 or 16 degree’s,

Part sun and cloud, when the sun is out and there is no breeze then it is lovely, but there seems to be a real chill to the breeze, even sitting outside the front of the house which is sheltered it still feels to chilly. The temperature outside is 11 degrees and 15 degrees in Paphos, we were going to have a lovely long walk at latchi harbour but with the chill in the wind even though its sunny it feels to chilly.

An amazing day today, 19 degrees down in Paphos, and around 14 in Tsada, so we had a walk at the harbour, the weather felt lovely and hot, and I didn’t want to go back into the hills to Tsada lol, the house is at 13 degrees still, so quite cold on the main floor downstairs.

Blue skies and sunshine, but outside we have wild winds going on, so definitely a staying home day, we are going to put the two heaters downstairs today and light a fire so I can do some cooking and freezing.

At the beginning of this week the outside temperature during the day dropped to about 6 degrees and we had two overnight temperatures of 0 degrees, the lowest temperature during the day that the house has dropped to is 10 degrees and that feels really cold if you have been downstairs for a while, we had a couple of days where we didn’t go for a walk as with the wind it just looked to cold.

Today I can see temperatures rising thankfully, the day temperature outside was around 15 and sunny, we went for a walk at Latchi, and were comfortable in jeans and thin sweater, the house temperature is still at 10 degrees but it would have gone up a couple of degrees I think if we had been home and had the front door open.
Over the next week the outside overnight temps are 7, 6, 8, 5, 4 and 6.
Its still not possible to put any of my tropical plants outside until the temperatures warm up quite a bit.

Quite cool in Tsada with cloud and a chilly breeze, the temp was around 14 degrees, but 18 degrees and lovely and warm down in Paphos.

The inside temp of the house is now between 13 and 14 so its going up a little bit, today is torrential rain and thick fog both in Tsada and Paphos, and outside temp is 10 degrees, the house feels colder today because of the rain.

We had to go into Paphos today and it was 19 degrees and really lovely and warm, I think we could have worn shorts instead of jeans and t shirt, around 3pm the clouds moved in and by the time we got home to Tsada it had been raining and was a bit chilly.

Woke up to blue skies and warmth, I haven’t had my electric fire on in my bedroom for two days now and the sun coming through the window is keeping it warmish, today it is going to be 17 degrees and full sun in Tsada and 19 and full sun in Paphos. Our overnight temperatures are going up, tonight 8 degrees, then 10 degrees, I think the nicer weather is here now although I can still see two days this week we might have cloud and rain, we will see.

Weather was around 16 degrees outside in Tsada, but with full sun it felt like it was in the twenties, there were a few clouds around but with my cardigan on and off it was a lovely day, with the front door open the living room actually went a bit above 14 degree’s….as soon as the sun has gone though it feels really cold, and the house this evening felt really chilly.

A cloudy day, we bought the two electric fires downstairs late morning as we decided to start being more in the living room, the temperature got to just over 17 degrees in the living room, it was quite comfortable.

They said today would be a rainy day, but we have blue skies and sunshine, I think it is going to 19 degrees outside today, it is nice being back in the living room, we only put one electric fire on in the evening and it felt warm enough, but I did make a water bottle as my hands were cold.

Blue sky and lovely temperature of 21 degrees in Tsada, but the wind is really blowing outside, and even though it’s a warm wind it really is to blowy to do anything outside, the house temperature went to seventeen and a half, we had a lovely evening, no fire on, I made one hot water bottle for an hour and then was warm for the rest of the evening without it.

Part sun and cloud at the moment, on the 21st the house actually dropped to 13 degrees, they say we are having unseasonably cooler temperatures for the next few days, the evenings are really chilly at the moment, on the 20th we went back upstairs and put the electric fire on as I was cold.

Over this past week the temperature inside the house has started to rise again, we even got the temperature up to 17 inside yesterday, but because this weekend the weather has gone cloudy and windy the inside has now dropped to fifteen and a half.

Yesterday we had really high winds although the temperature got up to 21 degrees but it was hard to sit outside as it was really really windy, in the night we had torrential rain.
Today it was part sun and part cloud and didn’t feel to warm, we did go for a walk and it was fine with jeans t shirt and cardigan.

Yesterday was 18 degrees outside and full sun with blue skies, and today 19 degree’s, the house finally got to 17 degree’s inside, I still have to wear a cardigan in the house as it still feels chilly.

Outside temp is 21 with blue skies, it feels hotter than 21.
Inside temperature is 18 a bit degree’s and it feels lovely, although I still put a cardigan on now and again.

The weather is lovely and hot and the pool is finally getting there, we hope to be swimming in the next day or two.
The sun is going more overhead now in the back garden, it is higher in the sky.
23rd – 25th April 2020 Pool Temp has now dropped to 19 degrees
We have had three days of cloud with on and off rain, the temperature outside is chilly, and in the evenings I am filling my water bottle up and sitting with a blanket over me.

Finally the sun came back on the 27th, and since then it has been lovely and hot, and it bought the pool temperature up to 24 again

We lost the sunshine, the temps say 19 degree’s but it feels a bit chilly in and out of the house, so t shirt cardigan and sweater on this evening, the pool held its temperature of 24 degrees but I am guessing over the next few days it will go back down again as we are heading for another five days of cloud.

The past week has been mainly cloud with no sun to be seen at all, the pool temp dropped to around 20/21, sweaters have been needed and a few times a hot water bottle to watch tv in the evenings.

Outside temp is 26 and feels very hot, this coming week it seems we are having a heat wave, and from tomorrow which will be 33 it then steadily goes up to 37 degrees, which I think might be a bit too hot, hopefully we will cope with the fans on and swimming in the pool.
May 20th 2020 Pool Temp went up to 32 degrees
What a very hot week, outdoor temperatures went between 34 and 37, the pool temperature got up to 32, which felt a bit to warm and not very refreshing, we tried topping it up with cold water but it only took it down half a degree, so the next evening we left the pool cover off overnight and the water went down to 29 degrees, it was much nicer and felt lovely, I think 29 is my new favourite temperature to swim in.
It’s been a hard week trying to keep the house cool, as there was no breeze, not even in the evening, we tried having the front door and back sliding door open but it put the temperature in the house up to 29 degrees, so we have kept all windows and doors shut and some blinds closed until the evening, then we open them just to have some fresh air but it really hasn’t cooled the house down as the air outside is just too warm. One evening my bedroom was 32 degrees, it has been hard to sleep this week.
We have been told the temperatures will go back to normal in a few days so not much longer to go with this heat.

The weather has been lovely and hot, and around 24 or 25 degrees, this week it goes between 24 and 27, the pool is amazing with the cover on and stays around 32 continually which feels like bath water. I have noticed that we have more breeze than normal.

The weather has been really hot for a few weeks now, and the gusts of wind we were getting have died down to a normal Tsada breeze which is lovely when the weather is so hot, weather is around 30 degrees in Tsada at the moment, it feels too hot to clean and too hot to do much of anything apart from swim and sit in the shade.

We have been having really hot weather and this coming week we are averaging between 30 and 33 degrees every day, it is amazing, we did go to the harbour a few days ago and within twenty minutes we felt hot and sticky and sweaty, I think Nicks shirt was wet so we came home and it was much nicer. We have to leave the pool cover off now and again as the water temperature goes up to 34 which is to warm to feel refreshing.

The pool has dropped to 28 degrees even though the weather outside during the day is still hot, today it was around 30 degrees, but the overnight temperature seems a lot cooler, now and again I put my cardigan on first thing in the morning.

The pool is now at 24 degrees so I guess there will be no more swimming for us this year now, it is nice to do different things though, although it’s still too hot to go for a walk, but we have been walking in the evenings which has been nice although I do wear a cardigan.

We finally moved to Droushia on the 13th November, the house the first week wasn’t too bad as long as I had a cardigan on and pj’s in the evening with a blanket, then on the 18th November I started filling my hot water bottle up to hold where ever I was sitting, we are still getting some warm days but I think this week there has been more rain and cloudy days than warm sunny days, the temperature in the house is around 17/18 which sounds warm but feels chilly, and the outside temperature today is going to be 17 degree and part sun and cloud.

The weather picked up again thankfully and we are back in warm sunny days, the house temp is 17 and I am trying to be outside most of the time, as I am leaving the cleaning until a rainy chilly day, so its lovely out and a bit chilly inside.

This past week the house dropped to 15 degrees which has felt cold, on the sunny days I am outside in the sunshine and on rainy days I drag a hot water bottle and blanket around with me unless I am busy.
We have been lighting a fire in the evenings on the rainy days and the fire seems to throw out a fair amount of heat, on the evenings that we don’t light a fire for some reason the house feels fairly warm in the evening, even my hands and face feel warm.
After the house dropping to 15, then over a few days it went back to 16, it’s amazing how much that one degree makes such a difference, it’s still chilly in the house but just not as chilly.
Our outside temperatures are around 18 and 19, which is lovely on sunny days

We had a couple of days where the temp in the house went back to 16 but it has now dropped again to 15, yesterday we had a cooking day but my hands stayed freezing all day, in the end I did Greek homework with my electric blanket, its been cloudy for the last week, but the weather says sun with part cloud so hopefully we might warm up again. At four o clock we are lighting the fire just to take the chill off and we let it go out round about eight to nine o clock, so far its manageable still.

We are still managing to stay in the main living room, we have had lots of sunny days so we are spending our days in the garden and lighting a fire in the evening, we had wood delivered yesterday although we haven’t used any yet as for two days we haven’t lit a fire, I find if the days are sunny then I can manage in the evening with a throw and a water bottle

The weather is up and down, sunny days and cloudy days, thankfully this week we have had more sun than cloud, we are still in the main living area and just lighting the fire at four o clock in the afternoon and at eight or nine we stop putting wood on it. Today the weather is a high of 17 with part sun and cloud, for the rest of next week it’s the same, some full sunny days and other days part sun and cloud with a high of 18…..The main living area only went a tad under 15 degrees one of the days but then it went back to 15 again, which is do able as long as you stay busy or have a blanket and hot water bottle.

Temp inside has now dropped to 12 degrees, this morning I put the heater on in the spare room at 8am to see how long it will take to warm up, the windows seem a bit drafty. We moved some of the plants under cover as we are having a lot of rain, this morning it hailed for a few minutes so I must get the rest of the plants under cover, it feels very cold in the house today

What a lovely week it has been, with blue skies and full sunshine every day, we have stayed out in the garden most of the time enjoying the weather, around 3ish the sun feels cooler as it drops further in the sky so then we come in and put the heater on in the little room, I think the weather is changing today to more cloud, we will see.

It has been a wild week with our weather, we have had crazy wind storms that brought sand, to the point I could hardly see out of windows as they got so dirty, my patio table turned yellow from the sand, the pool went murky and the car was covered, the temperature dropped and we had a few days of rain, everywhere felt chilly, it hasn’t felt like a good week at all, we landed up back in the tv room for a few nights as it was so cold.
